So the mod team deliberated for awhile about the next game's alliances, and a point came up:

Black Mages and Thieves have yet to be friends!

The only balanced way this can work out, however, is the two teams versus the other four combined. And, in fact, if you take the scores of the previous game and apply them to this potential alliance, it's about even.

As Game 5 starts Nov 15th, I'm aware this is kind of late, but if you could respond to the poll regarding what you think about this potential alliance, it would be great.

This is part 1 of the endgame feedback. I apologize; it's been hastily put together.

All comments will be screened. You can also send me a PM if you want to remain completely anonymous (screened comments can still be seen by semi-neutral mods).

The text-entry areas only have a max of 255 characters.

Hi everyone!

Due to some unfortunate circumstances (internet, work, life, etc), activity has been low for the last while. We've held a mod meeting, and I think most have agreed that the best thing to do may be to extend the game. Most points-activity mods are okay on this, but we haven't decided on a duration.

The proposal is to extend the game by either half a month (either 2 weeks or 15 days or so), or by a full month. Which would you guys prefer? I think at the very least, we'll extend it the 15 days anyway, but this is mainly to find out if you guys want to extend it even longer.

Just to be fair, I've also included options to vote to not to extend the game, or to ask for a longer or shorter extension period. Obviously, we'll consider those options if people want them, but we will most likely extend it 15 or 30 days in order to put up some more activities, since shorter than two weeks is too short to do much, and longer than a month may put too much pressure on the mods.

THE END! This song just came on. Seems oddly appropriate.

This one is about [livejournal.com profile] moogle_workshop, which is run by a magical moogle.

There are NO SCALES in this one!

Mysti would like me to add that if anyone has comments about Moogle Workshop, they can direct those to her personally. As stated, I'll have the mod contact list up soon, but for now, you can IM her on AIM at snarkycleric, or PM her ([livejournal.com profile] sunflower_mynah).

For reference, fanworks points are found here for general things and here for art.

Okay, part 4! This one is about [livejournal.com profile] ff_minigames and [livejournal.com profile] ff_eventsquare. If you have any problems with minigames, please discuss them with me directly; for the moment, I'm still the main mod heading minigames. Ets should be okay to contact for events.

As a note, you might notice there aren't many questions about the actual events of Event Square. That's because the events are run by volunteers, not Ets, so she's more concerned about the organization issues. If you have any comments about the actual events that happened, please comment about them below, in the comments. I am so eloquent. And this might be a little early, but if you have any ideas about an event you'd like to run, we'd love to have you on the volunteer team for the next festival, this summer.

Again, grading system for scale:

1 - CHANGE IT NOW CHANGE IT PLEASE
2 - There are some really, really big problems that need fixing like now
3-4 - There are some really big problems, but I'm not going to quit over them
5-6 - I don't really like it, but I can live with it
7-8 - There are some problems, but it's not too bad
9 - There really isn't anything wrong with it
10 - It's perfect, please don't change it!

Part 3! Is... [livejournal.com profile] ultima_arena all by its lonesome self. I'm sorry, Tako and Xinn, I probably made more questions than you'd ever need the answers for. D:

Again, grading system for scales:

7-8 - There are some problems, but it's not too bad
9 - There really isn't anything wrong with it
10 - It's perfect, please don't change it!

Also, once again, textbox entry is 255 max, feel free to give me your answers, and mod contact will be up soon so you can ask the specific mods.

Part 2 of the super-long poll of I'm-sorry-it's-so-super-long!

This one part is about [livejournal.com profile] ff_classchange and [livejournal.com profile] airship_lounge.

As a note, I will be posting a mod contact list soon, so if you have any issues with any of these communities and would rather discuss with the mods heading them, you can ask them directly! For now, most of them are okay with PMs and such.

Once again, please use this system for scales:

1 - CHANGE IT NOW CHANGE IT PLEASE
2 - There are some really, really big problems that need fixing like now
3-4 - There are some really big problems, but I'm not going to quit over them
5-6 - I don't really like it, but I can live with it
7-8 - There are some problems, but it's not too bad
9 - There really isn't anything wrong with it
10 - It's perfect, please don't change it!

And again, please note that textbox entry limit is 255 characters, and you can PM/IM/email/etc me answers if you don't want to comment.

First of all, let me say, Tako, you are an amazing person for doing this every game. I didn't realize how much work it was making the end of game poll until I actually started making it. >.>;

To everyone else, please fill this out! It's a bit long because I am even more long-winded than Tako, but it took me some 5-6 hours, so please don't let it go to waste~ *shot for guilting*

More seriously, this is part 1. This one is about FF Land general - ie, what you enjoyed, what you didn't, how the mod team is, how the gil system is, etc. More in-depth questions about the various subcommunities are coming up in a little.

There are likely going to be 2-3 parts because apparently I can only have 15 questions. Oops. But don't worry, it's not as scary as you think! A lot of the questions are textbox entries for "If you didn't like something, can you suggest anything we can improve on" type things. Which brings me up to this point--

One thing we discussed in the mod comm was... no one really knows how to parse the scale question results. What you think a 7 means is different from what I think a 7 means, and both are different from what Mysti might think it means. So I'd like you all to please follow this grading system, just so we're all on the same page:

1 - CHANGE IT NOW CHANGE IT PLEASE
2 - There are some really, really big problems that need fixing like now
3-4 - There are some really big problems, but I'm not going to quit over them
5-6 - I don't really like it, but I can live with it
7-8 - There are some problems, but it's not too bad
9 - There really isn't anything wrong with it
10 - It's perfect, please don't change it!

Sounds good?

As a note, the textbox entry maximum character limit is 255. So if it doesn't fit, and you don't want to say so in the comments, feel free to PM/e-mail/IM me. Also, note that I'm the only one who can see who voted for what, and read textbox answers.

While the mods work on tallying, we'd like to put the issue of potentially moving to Dreamwidth on the table for discussion. Since LiveJournal's changes to the comment system, people have asked whether [livejournal.com profile] ff_land plans to move, and well we would like member input before we make a decision either way. I've come up with four options for this comm:

Feel free to elaborate on your vote, discuss the reasons, etc. in the comments. Be understanding that your reasons for wanting to stay/leave may not be universal i.e. avoid saying things like, "There's no reason for anyone to stay at LiveJournal anymore," or "I can't see why anybody would want to move to Dreamwidth," since the cost/benefit ratio is different for everyone.

Because the other post has veritably exploded over this issue, I'm making a new post to (1) clarify the specifics of this rule change, (2) elaborate on a new proposal that was raised in the other post, and (3) specify certain TYPES of challenge restrictions and have people vote on those.

Yet another issue that I'd like to put to a community vote (can you tell I like polls?): [livejournal.com profile] roax suggested that it might be a good idea to couple team comms so that, for instance, Dragoons would join the Soldiers team comm, and Soldiers would join the Dragoons team comm so that there's less burden for the mods and people can communicate with and support the other team.

The mod team was undecided and wanted to leave it up to individual members to choose whether they wanted their own alliance to combine. So here is some more information about what the change would entail:

Hey everyone, two more things we'd like community input on:

1) [livejournal.com profile] moogle_workshop has a rule that fic featuring original characters will not be given points. But the Final Fantasy MMOs, FFXI and FFXIV, were brought up, and we weren't sure if fic set in the world of those games but featuring player characters rather than the canon NPCs would fall under the original character rule or no. So basically, should FFXI/FFXIV fic set in the game worlds but only featuring original characters be given points? (Note: in either case, fic of that type can definitely be posted, but we're just trying to figure out if they'll be awarded points like other fanfic would be given.)

2) [livejournal.com profile] lightofeilia had an idea for [livejournal.com profile] ff_minigames based on Munchkin that would actually be, well, more of a community-wide mega-game that would involve fighting monsters and leveling up! We want to know if people would be interested.

Longer explanation )

Here's the poll:

Hey everyone! So many people have applied and voted, so thank you so much! I'm pumped. :] I just wanted to give an update on what's going on, and also ask for some opinions.

→ I've been kind of quiet lately but I've actually been working hard to set up the other communities. I'm hoping to have them all set up within the next 24 hours so that [livejournal.com profile] roax can start stamping people! So with that in mind, be sure to get your votes in, especially to the first few apps because those will be the first to get stamped. :)

I'm going to call this WAVE 1: [bean_bunny] [pinkified] [roax] [chacusha] [silvertigerx] [aeroja]
And WAVE 2: [papercloud] [the_404_error] [far_to_nowhere] [breyzyyin] [lumati] [crescent_dreams] [zerrat] [surmise]

Fourteen apps! I'm sorry for the deluge -- make those first few apps the priority and pace yourself with the sorting. :)

→ I'd also like to call people's attention to the mod application in [livejournal.com profile] judge_magisters. If you're interested in helping run this community and making decisions, don't be shy. I will gladly welcome people to be on the mod team.

→ Finally, I have two points that I can't decide on. One is the name for the Monk team comm. I've thought of the other five ([livejournal.com profile] mythril_swords (soldiers), [livejournal.com profile] curaga_casters (white mages), [livejournal.com profile] firaga_casters (black mages), [livejournal.com profile] gil_stealers (thieves), & [livejournal.com profile] heavenly_lances (dragoons)). So in that vein, help me pick a monk team name in the poll below.

The other point I'm trying to decide on is whether you'd like entries in the various activity comms to be members-locked by default or no. So far here is what I've decided:
[livejournal.com profile] moogle_workshop (fanworks comm): Public by default; the poster can choose whether to f-lock their entries.
[livejournal.com profile] ff_minigames (games comm): Locked by default? Probably most of the activities we do will only apply to members.
[livejournal.com profile] airship_lounge (social comm): Locked by default. Again, this is mostly meant for in-community discussion.
[livejournal.com profile] ultima_arena (contest comm): Either all entries public, all entries locked, or only unlock challenge entries. The benefit of keeping at least the challenge posts unlocked is that people can see what kind of contests we do and decide to join based on that. But some people might feel uncomfortable with having their contest entries shown publicly by default? Help me decide:
