Hello, guys! Mysti here. I am not your shiny events mod, as you very well know; that would be the lovely etsplanations, who is currently overseas. I'm posting this on her behalf since she's asked me to hold the fort for her while she's away.

For those of you who aren't aware, ff_eventsquare hosts a - well, the name says everything, doesn't it? - event once every game. Following Ets's grand (and very new) tradition, I'll copypaste the introduction lightofeilia wrote for the festival, back in Game 2:

So what's the Garden Festival? It's basically an excuse to throw a party :D Well, in all seriousness, it's actually so that non-members get a chance to see what it's like in ff_land. Right now the only public communities are ff_land, ff_classchange, and moogle_workshop. But for 15 days, there'll be tons of activities and games running, and everyone is welcome to participate, especially non-members!

Even better; if you've participated and decided that hey, it's a pretty fun thing, maybe I wanna join; you'll get to keep all of the prizes that you've won (in the form of game points)!

And for our current members, the Garden Festival is also a chance for you to run activities!

True to carnival-style, the festival has different 'booths', run (ideally speaking) by different people. If you have an idea for a booth and would like to run one, there are forms below! (Yours truly will make sure it gets to Ets.)

Ideally we'd like about 5 to 10 booths for the event. Please leave a comment here if you'd like to open a booth or help to run one; people running booths, please feel free to ask for helpers if necessary! You do not need to run booths over a continuous span of days; one-off booths (like many of our current minigames) are acceptable, as well.

What do you get for running booths? I'm afraid we can't offer points for that, but we can and do reward booth-owners and helpers with 1000 gil each. It's also the chance to run your own minigame, if you've wanted to do that. Suggestions are welcome even if you don't want to run booths, and if you DO want to run one but don't know what you'd like to run, just offer to help out and maybe there'll be a few booths for you!

SCHEDULE

We're planning on running this event during the last two weeks of the game, with possibly a little overlap into extra time for wrapup. Which means this is a little late, so could I please have replies (if possible) by the 15th? I'm honestly very sorry the timespan is so short.

NOTE: The events in ff_eventsquare will be public, so you do not need to join it in order to participate in the event. The only people that will be invited to it are those running a stand.

#1: Just trying to clarify here: this is a request booth, I'm guessing?

#2: ...and a trivia booth in which people guess the FF character? May I ask if you're planning to make it a once off, or a sort of regularly scheduled thing, like... a few questions every few days?

Well, ideally we try to limit it to one person per booth (though you can help out with another booth if you're keen) so more people get a chance to try their hand at it and earn gil? On the other hand, I do acknowledge this is short notice and there might be space for more. Were there any more booths you wanted to host?

Yes, the first would be a request booth. (Sorry for not clarifying - I was planning on doing a submission form after discussing it in a little more detail... ^^;;)

Yep, trivia booth. I'm not sure about scheduling since it would depend on the amount of trivia I can amass. I think I could do something involving either 2 examples per day or 10 examples every 5 days, whichever works better.

Ah I understand. Don't worry, these are the only two booths I'm interested in hosting, though if there is help needed on other booths I'd also be willing to help out though only if of course it's desperately needed. And I'm fine with sharing either booth so that more people can earn gil.

I definitely think the second is more minigames-like; the first would fall more under the category of MWS. (We've done MWS exchanges before, but we've always linked back to MWS because yeah, points!) In fact, if you'd like to do both, I think it's entirely possible because the first one seems rather closer to MWS-requests to me, to be honest, and that's a lot of art and I really don't want to deny you points for it.

How's this:

We used to have creative workshops (they were generally writing, since many of them were hosted by writers rather than artists, especially since we had fewer artists back then) every so often, with prompts that could be used community-wide and also a potential avenue for requests. The tag is here. I have no objection to seeing someone post discussions of art/fic, and I have no objections to one of the prompts being cosplay, etc.

The only caveat is: if you fill any prompts obtained this way, they're not eligible for the bonus points unless someone decides to actually request it from your shop as a result of the discussion post.

On the trivia booth: Sure, just submit the application and I'll get it to Ets? :) I think the schedule depends on when it's best for you and how long you want to leave the trivia questions open for.

Okay I think I've got my head round it now. So for the art booth I would do a post at Event Square in a similar manner to the creative workshops and host the sketches there then? (That would probably be easier with regards to replying to people since that way the art would be sure to get to them.) Would you like me to come up with another theme as well as cosplay then?

Okay, I'll get round to making an app for the trivia booth stat! Thinking it over, leaving the questions open for 5 days seems to be the most sensible since it gives everyone a chance to try it out so I'll aim for that. :)

Eh, the first: I meant, post it in AL. I realised I never actually said that straight out. /headdesk. If people prompt, then you can fill it and post in MWS, thereby claiming points for your team and gil for posting as per MWS usual. Another theme would be great so anyone who's looking for a prompt can also seize upon the theme and post to MWS, see? (And you can certainly ask people to throw you prompts as well.) Also - well, the thing is, if you ran that booth in ES you would still be benefiting vastly more from it in points than the people who requested; the idea is that anyone who takes part can claim points, as per minigames.
