Team comm combining?

Yet another issue that I'd like to put to a community vote (can you tell I like polls?): [livejournal.com profile] roax suggested that it might be a good idea to couple team comms so that, for instance, Dragoons would join the Soldiers team comm, and Soldiers would join the Dragoons team comm so that there's less burden for the mods and people can communicate with and support the other team.

The mod team was undecided and wanted to leave it up to individual members to choose whether they wanted their own alliance to combine. So here is some more information about what the change would entail:

HOW IT'D WORK
I'll use my class as a Black Mage as an example.
• Black Mages would get an invite to join [livejournal.com profile] curaga_casters (the White Mage comm) but without posting access
• White Mages would get an invite to join [livejournal.com profile] firaga_casters (my comm) but without posting access
• I would be able to see and comment on posts in both communities.
• I would only be able to post entries in [livejournal.com profile] firaga_casters.
• Newly sorted Black Mages would get invites as described above -- a normal invite to [livejournal.com profile] firaga_casters, and an invite to be a member without posting access to [livejournal.com profile] curaga_casters
• When the game ends (April 30th) I would be booted from [livejournal.com profile] curaga_casters and the communities would return to how they were before.

The above changes would only be implemented for the team alliances where the majority of people say they would prefer it. So if you're a Soldier or Dragoon, you'll be voting specifically on whether you want the Soldier & Dragoon team comms to combine. If you're a Thief or Monk, you'd be voting on whether you want the Thief & Monk team comms to combine.

Some benefits and drawbacks to think about when you make your decision:

BENEFITS
• Team mods could work together when posting reminders. For example, rather than two mods posting one or two reminders weekly, they could trade off. Obviously this is more useful in the team comms that are headed by a single mod.
• Closer inter-team communication, teamwork, collaboration, etc.
• More activity in team comms, which is obviously more helpful for quiet team comms than it is for team comms that have a good amount of activity already.

DRAWBACKS
• The members of the other team would be able to see your posts, so it might make people feel uncomfortable, for example, to be talking about FF thieves, when they know the Monks are also seeing that post on their f-list. (Or it might not. It's really up to each individual member to decide.)
• People might feel equally uncomfortable commenting on posts from the other comm; it might feel intrusive, in which case the second and third benefits above would be mostly nullfied.
• Just in general, better inter-team bonding would come at the cost of same-team bonding

So here's the poll:

EDIT: You can also put "No opinion/Don't care" or "Undecided" if that's the way you feel.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
